It’s time again for San Patricio Electric Cooperative’s Annual Members Meeting. Each year we gather with our members to share important information about our cooperative, announce the winners of our director election, and to occasionally vote on matters such as changes to our bylaws. You’ll receive a bag of gifts just for attending and have the chance to win some door prizes as well!
This year, the meeting is set for Saturday, September 28 at the Bee County Exposition Center in Beeville. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the business meeting starts at 9:30 a.m. A free health fair, presented by Christus Spohn Health Services, will be open to you during the registration period. And a light breakfast of muffins and beverages will also be available.
Prior to the business meeting, booths will be set up to showcase all of the programs and services offered to SPEC members. This gives you a chance to learn more about your cooperative, and visit with some of our employees.
The director election is one of the highlights of our Annual Members Meeting. Our cooperative is run by people like you, members of the communities we serve, who are elected to oversee the operation of your cooperative. These directors serve three-year terms, with elections held on a rotating basis.
This year, we are holding an election for Districts #3, #4, and director-at-large. Ballots were mailed and emailed to our members in early September. Voting ends on September 23rd at 5 p.m. If you plan to vote by mail, please be sure to send your ballot in ample time to meet the September 23 deadline. Results will be announced at our Annual Meeting on September 28.
SPEC is connected to you by more than just power lines. We strive to enhance the quality of life for all of our members, doing what we can to make a positive impact in our service area. Your attendance at our annual meeting allows us to listen to and understand the needs of the community we live and work in. We’re looking forward to seeing you at our Annual Members Meeting!
