Last Call for SPEC Scholarship Applications

All News

The April 1 deadline for San Patricio Electric Cooperative’s scholarship program is quickly approaching. If you haven’t turned in your application, you better act soon.

SPEC will award 20 scholarships, worth $5,000 each, to area high school seniors. Of those, 15 will go to students planning to attend a college or university and five will go to students who will attend a vocational or technical school.

To be eligible, students must be in good standing with their school. In addition, their parents or guardians must be SPEC members and receive electric service from the co-op at their primary place of residence.

Scholarships will be awarded based on financial need, academic achievement, community involvement and leadership abilities. An independent scholarship selection committee will review and rank each application and recipients will be notified within 90 days of the application deadline.
