About SPEC’s Scholarship Program

The San Patricio Electric Education Trust was established in 1999 to help local students with the expense of higher education and further the co-op’s commitment to giving back to the communities it serves. Since its inception, the San Patricio Electric Education Trust has awarded more than $1,000,000 in scholarships to local students.

Each scholarship awarded will be paid over a two-year period. Recipients will receive $500 per semester, for their first four semesters, so long as they meet the conditions established for the scholarship program. Recipients are required to successfully complete at least 12 hours per semester and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
