At SPEC, you’re more than a customer, you’re a member-owner. That means you own a piece of our business and gets a say in how it’s run when you exercise your vote.
Each year, our membership body elects members to serve on the Board of Directors. These men and women serve as representatives of the membership body and make decisions that direct the cooperative.
SPEC has eight directors—one from each of our seven districts and a director at large. Directors are elected for three-year terms on a rotating basis. In 2015, we have three director districts up for election—District 1, District 5 and District 8.
How do you vote?
This year, we have several ways for you to cast your vote:
- Mail. Every members should receive a voting ballot by mail. You can fill out that ballot and send it in to Survey & Ballot Systems in the prepaid envelope provided. Please do not include your bill payment in this envelope, as it will not come to our office.
- Email. This year, we are also providing a ballot by email to those members who have an email address on file with us. Please follow the information in the email to cast your vote.
- Online. Additionally, you can find a link to vote in the Board of Directors election on our website. Just follow the link to an online ballot. To do this, you will need your member number and election passcode that were provided in your mail and/or email ballot.
The election ends on September 21, 2015. Ballots received after this date will not be counted.
Don’t forget to attend our Annual Meeting on September 26, 2015 at the Bee County Exposition Center. There will be some great information from your cooperative, as well as a free health fair, breakfast and fabulous door prizes. See you there!
