San Patricio Electric Cooperative is pleased to announce the selection of Freddy Wolff as the cooperative’s new General Manager.
After a thorough and deliberate executive search process, SPEC’s Board of Directors unanimously selected Wolff for the role. Wolff brings nearly two decades of leadership in the electric utility and telecommunications industries. He is expected to begin his duties at SPEC on August 18.
Wolff has focused his career on serving in executive roles at several member-owned cooperatives across Central Texas. His experience includes key leadership positions in finance and operations, most recently as Chief Financial Officer at an electric cooperative in Nevada. He also spent part of his career at ERCOT (Electric Reliability Council of Texas) where he gained valuable insight into the infrastructure of the Texas electric grid.
Wolff holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting from Texas State University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Texas A&M University–Commerce. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a designation that reflects his strong foundation in financial oversight, governance and accountability. Wolff is recognized for building strong, mission-driven teams and fostering organizational cultures rooted in transparency, service and safety.
“SPEC has a long tradition of serving its members with integrity and reliability,” Wolff said. “I’m honored to join this dedicated team and excited to work with the employees, board of directors and the communities we serve to build on that legacy. I believe in the power of the cooperative model and in SPEC’s mission to improve the lives of its members every day.”
Wolff, along with his wife and two teenage daughters, is excited to return to South Texas and looks forward to becoming an active member of the community. He is eager to engage with the region that SPEC proudly serves—both professionally and personally.
Wolff will succeed the cooperative’s current general manager, Ron Hughes, who will retire from SPEC at the end of August after 49 years of dedicated service, including 19 as general manager.
