If you’ve ever looked closely at San Patricio Electric Cooperative’s logo, you may have also noticed a line of text below our name that reads: “Your Touchstone Energy Cooperative.” We’re proud to be a part of Touchstone Energy, and we want you to know why.
Touchstone Energy is a nationwide alliance of 750 cooperative, across 46 states. In a true cooperative spirit, our partnership with Touchstone Energy allows us to pool our resources with other cooperatives for the benefit of all. In other words, being a Touchstone Energy Cooperative allows us to operate as a small business, with resources of a company that is much larger.
As a Touchstone Energy Cooperative, we have access to education and training for our employees, member benefit programs, web development resources and advertising.
While this partnership does a lot for the co-op as a whole, there are some specific benefits for our members that we want you to be aware of. Take a look at what you get as a SPEC member:
Co-op Connections Card
One of the biggest benefits to our members is Touchstone’s Co-op Connections Card program. With the card, our members get discounts or special offers at more than 100 local businesses and thousands more across the county. You’ll find savings everywhere, from your local mom and pop shop to national chains, such as hotels and restaurants.
We started the program in 2012 and mailed Co-op Connections cards to each of our members. If you’ve lost your card, or if you never received one, please let us know so we can pass on the savings to you! Call PR Coordinator, Brittany Williams, at 361-364-2220 ext. 135.

Touchstone’s Together We Save program is aimed at helping our members save money. The website provides tips to help you use energy wisely, so you can stretch your dollars and save on your electric bill. There are articles, videos and online tools to help you calculate the savings you can find in your home.
Kids Energy Zone
The Kids Energy Zone provides resources for parents, teachers and kids to learn about electricity. There are games, videos, coloring pages and activities that can make learning fun!
